New Delhi: An unlikely social media trend emerged on Saturday, on the first day of the second Test between India and Australia. And the trending topic was Abhinav Mukund.
His was one of the top trends in both Twitter and Google as India bat first after winning the toss at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. But the 27-year-old didn't last long, and left the field without even opening his account.
He last played a Test match, way back in 2011, but his comeback was nothing to write about. Cricket Australia posted a tweet, stating the fact
He waited 2042 days to play Test cricket again and then this... https://t.co/JZygQGwCYr pic.twitter.com/IhCRQ2TFy5

Playing as an opener, in place for unfit Murali Vijay, Mukund lasted eight balls before becoming Australi's first scalp of the day. He was trapped in front by ever probing Mitchell Starc.
Former India opener Virender Sehwag reckoned that Tamil Nadu player was lucky to play this match. Then added that the luck went out pretty quick, in typical Viru style.
Abhinav Mukund is lucky to have played this test due to injury of Vijay. But his luck run out in matter of few overs. #IndvAus #IndvsAus
