New Delhi: Former Indian pacer Zaheer Khan turned 38 years-old on 7th October 2016 and the cricketing fraternity was full of praise for the left-arm seamer.
Having made his debut early in 2000, it was the ICC KnockOut series the same year where he established a name for himself. The 1st Quarter-final of the series on October 7, 2000 was between India and Australia.
In the match something peculiar happened, Zaheer Khan steamed in and yorked Steve Waugh for pace, which later on helped India to secure a win by 20 runs. When it comes to yorker people don't often see something like that too often from Indian fast bolwers.
This was a rare occasion as an Indian pacer was noticed by people in the cricket fraternity for bowling a deadly yorker to a batsman, who probably specialises in facing fast bowlers.
The next day when Indian team was in Nairobi, the 2nd Quarter-final was between Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Wasim Akram said something to Harsha Bhogle that made every Indian proud. He said, "wo jo apka naya fast bolwer hai, bhejo mere pass" (You have that new fast bowler to me, send him to me).

Zaheer made his debut in the International cricket on 3rd October 2000 against Kenya where he took 3 wickets in the match and gave 48 runs.

The left-arm bowler is currently with Indian cricket team in Indore, where they are playing the 3rd Test against New Zealand. But he is not there to play, Zak is the part of the commentary team with Virender Sehwag.
