Brendon McCullum reckons cricket is lucky to have 'Superstar' Virat Kohli

New Delhi: Virat Kohli is receiving admiration from all over the world and it seems like every other day, a player comes forward and praises Virat's sensational performance in recent time. Now it's turn of former New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum, who can't stop himself from praising this batting genius.

Heaping praise on India's Test skipper, McCullum has said that cricket is lucky to have a 'Superstar' like Virat Kohli, and he always plays a good cricket on field and never gets out of the line.

"He's an out-and-out superstar and he plays the game in the right way - he plays it hard on the field but he never really crosses the line, unless challenged in a different way. But he's an absolute superstar and I think the game is lucky to have him," McCullum told cricket.com.au

In recent Test series against England, Kohli has been in phenomenal form, where he has scored 640 runs in four Test matches at an average of 128.00 with one match to go. Not only for his batting abilities, he has also been praised for his leadership skills, as India has won back-to-back Test series on Home ground in the year 2016 under his captaincy.

Kohli, 28, also become the only Indian Test captain to score three double-hundreds in a a year.

McCullum further added that he thinks that Kohli has changed the game with his new brand of Cricket, which also involves high intensity and fitness levels.

"If we look at Indian cricket over a period of time, they've always been immensely talented, but just with the high intensity he operates at on a consistent basis, he's taken that to a new level through his professionalism and his fitness. And I think you've seen a whole raft of cricketers since he's come on as captain as well really take that in their stride, and the IPL has been a catalyst for that as well." he further added.

The fifth and final test is about to start from 16 December at Chennai and Kohli and co. who are 3-0 up in series will definitely look to clinch the series 4-0, while England will try to end the series on a winning note.
