New Delhi: Cash-strapped Jet Airways will no more offer complimentary meals for economy class passengers traveling on domestic routes under two more fare categories
Aiming to reduce costs, the airline has made revision in its complimentary meal structure. The new structure offerings will be effective for tickets booked from December 21, for travel starting January 7, Jet airways said in a release.
The carrier currently offers five fare options in the economy class - light, deal, saver, classic and flex - for customers booking flights on domestic routes.
The latest revision in complimentary meals would be available only for economy passengers who booked their tickets under the flex option, the release said.
“Effective 21st December 2018, guests travelling in Economy and booking 'Light'/'Deal/Saver/Classic' fares for travel from 07th January 2019 on flights within India will have the opportunity to buy meals from our specially curated on-board menu, ‘JetBistro’, payable by their debit/credit card. The airline will continue to offer complimentary meals across 'Saver'/'Classic' Fare Choices for guests who have made bookings prior to 21st December, 2018,” the airline said.
However, the airline will continue to offer complimentary meals across saver and classic fare options to those passengers who have made bookings prior to December 21.
Jet Airways frequent flyers holding platinum and gold card membership will also continue to avail on-board complimentary meal facility as before, the airline added.
It had in 2016 introduced a tier-based flexible fare system.
