Sukma: Hidma, the commander of the second battalion of the People's Liberation Gureilla Army (PLGA ), is said to be behind the Maoist attack at Sukma district of Chattisgarh in which 25 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were martyred.

25-year-old Hidma is a dreaded Maosit commander, who operates in the Sukma-Bijapur region in south Bastar.

Hidma was allegedly involved in 2013 Jiram Valley attack, which killed at least 31 people, including then state Congress chief Nandkumar Patel.

It's also believed that the Maoist commander was responsible for the deady attack on security forces on March 11, 2017, in which 12 CRPF personnel were killed and their arms looted when Naxals ambushed their patrol party in the Maoist hotbed of Sukma in Chhattisgarh.

At least 25 CRPF personnel were killed and six wounded in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district by 300 to 400 heavily-armed Maoists on Monday.

The 74th battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) came under the fierce attack at 12:30 pm on Friday in Kalapathar area of south Bastar region.

The 99-member CRPF patrol was on foot on the interior road, providing security to road construction activity, when it came under sudden attack.

This was the worst attack by Maoists in Chhattisgarh since 2010 when 76 CRPF troopers were killed. Twelve CRPF men were killed in a similar Maoist attack in Sukma early this year.
