VUDA promises 3,000 houses for low income groups

The Vadodara Urban development Authority (VUDA) has promised 3,000 houses in Bil an Sevasi villages located on the outskirts of the city.

Vadodara: The Vadodara Urban development Authority (VUDA) has promised 3,000 houses in Bil an Sevasi villages located on the outskirts of the city.

"These are the affordable houses meant for two categories of people belonging to the economically weaker section (EWS) and low income groups (LIG)," VUDA chairman Naranbhai Patel told reporters here yesterday.

The cost of each unit meant for EWS will be around Rs 4.5 lakh, while that under the LIG woule be Rs 9 lakh, he said adding that the state government would provide subsidy of Rs one lakh for each of the both categories of houses.
