New Delhi: The ecommerce player Flipkart is going to launch an scheme, where you would be able to exchange your used smartphone and television set with a new one listed on the site.
With the increasing competition and the sales seen tapering off over a period of time , the company is figuring out innovative ways to drive sales in different categories.
Flipkart expects that the exchange programme will drive 20% of the sales in these categories by the end of this year.
The company has existing tie-ups with companies like Motorola, Lenovo, Xiaomi, LeEco, Samsung etc in the mobile phone category
The scheme, when launched, is expected to last till the end of the year. The scheme 'Big Exchange Day' would be available on the first two days of every month.
Flipkart is trying to iron out all the wrinkles before the scheme is finally launched.
So it may be a while before you get to exchange your old device for a new one!
