New Delhi: The Cyber crime branch has arrested two employees of a Gurgaon-based software company over allegations of source code theft.

The two employees, Salilendra Kumar and Chandra Shekhar Verma have been arrested following a complain filed by Bennett technologies for stealing the company’s source code and floating another company. They have been booked under various sections of IPC and IT act and have been kept under custody. The third accused Sri Krishna Gupta is still absconding.

Police have seized their laptops which contain the footprint of the software code they stole from the company.

Ranjan Soni, MD, Bennett technologies said, “Such incidents dampen the spirit of the IT companies who struggle to protect their IP and trade secrets. Many IT companies are reluctant to shift their core development to India due to absence of stringent laws and lack of enforcement. “
