Top 10 most followed Indian Twitter accounts in 2014

Prime Minister Narendra Modi remained the only non-film personality in the top 10 with 8.4 million followers and at the fifth position.

New Delhi: Microblogging site Twitter, the social networking site which lets people express in 140 characters, has rolled out the list for the most followed Indian Twitter accounts for the year 2014.

According to Twitter, movie star Amitabh Bachchan grabbed the numero uno spot for the most followed Indian Twitter account with 11.8 million followers. Shah Rukh Khan stood at the second position with 10.2 million followers. Recently, SRK as he is fondly called, crossed the 10 million mark on Twitter for which he had sent an audio message to his fans.

Aamir Khan, Mr Perfectionist stands tall at number 3 in the list with 9.8 million followers.

'Dabbang' man and actor Salman Khan comes on the fourth spot in the list with a total of 9,426,989 followers.

It is interesting to note that PM Modi was the fastest growing Indian account registering a growth of 54.45 percent, adding 4.6 million followers in 2014.

The dusky beauty Deepika Padukone who is at the sixth position has 8,349,273 followers.

Priyanka Chopra, actress, singer has managed the seventh rank with 7,914,122 followers.

Hrithik Roshan occupies eighth rank with the follower count of 7,574,967. Positions ninth and tenth belonged to Akshay Kumar and music director and composer A R Rahman with 6,685,653 and 5,607,203 followers respectively.
