The hacking threat directed at cable network CNN has turned out be just another hoax.

New York: The hacking threat directed at cable network CNN has turned out be just another hoax.

According to New York Post, a Tennessee man named David C. Garrett Jr. came out on social media Wednesday as the "boy who cried Wolf."

It was believed that the threat was issued by the group that hacked into the computer network of Sony Pictures Entertainment.

Garrett tweeted that the threat was a joke and that he did not think it would be taken so seriously.

The report said that the man posted pictures of his Internet history as "proof" of the hoax and said that information on Pastebin is not reliable.
