Washington: According to a security firm, that rejects the FBI's claim on Sony hack incident that North Korea was responsible, the cyberattack was masterminded by a former Sony employee.

Cybersecurity firm Norse Corp said that it had identified six suspects who live in Canada and are directly involved in the attack on Sony's records, TMZ.com reported.

A woman named Lena, a former employee has extensive knowledge of the company's network and operations.

However, Sony has not yet commented on the firm's claims while the FBI has met with its representatives but maintains the view that North Korea was behind the attack.

The U.S. linked the cyber attack to North Korea after sensitive studio information was publicly released.

North Korea has denied involvement in the Sony hack and said that the movie that depicts a fictional plot to assassinate the North Korean leader Kim Jong-un was insensitive.
