Rs 23 lakh worth fake products under Lenovo brand seized

Chennai: Fake products under the brand name Lenovo, including laptop batteries and adaptors, valued at Rs 23 lakh, were seized Thursday in raids at three retail shops here.

"The officials conducted a surprise raid in three retail shops at Ritchie Street on Mount Road and seized 2,252 fake products, including laptop batteries and adaptors that were being sold under the brand name of Lenovo," an official release said.

The raids were carried out by the video piracy cell of CB-CID and Enforcers of Intellectual Property Rights.

"The total value of seized goods is around Rs 23 lakh," the release said, adding, four people have been nabbed in connection with the case.
