New Delhi: Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday during his first trip to India after taking up the role of CEO at Microsoft.

Nadella also met Ravi Shankar Prasad, Minister for Communications and Information Technology. He also told he was keen in partnering with the government of India in making Digital India a reality.

Nadella has come to spend time with his family here too.

It is also expected that he will address Microsoft employees. Since the time Nadella has taken charge of the company's affairs, Microsoft's revenues have risen 14 percent to $67 billion.

Microsoft's stock has also increased by about a third this year and nearly twice in the previous year.

His stint at Microsoft has been marked with many policy shifts, aimed at putting the world's largest technology company back on the innovation path.

The measures, including shedding some of the company's proprietary lineage and making its software more compatible with rivals Google and Apple, have been applauded by both the Wall Street and sector watchers.
