Earlier, during the day, they both visited German automotive major Bosch's facility in this tech hub for a firsthand view of its operations in India.

PM Modi will discuss the role of technology and innovation in manufacturing for his 'Digital India' initiative, along with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

The German Chancellor and the Indian Prime Minister will participate in a working lunch with high-ranking business leaders from India and Germany.

The 61-year-old Merkel, who has been chancellor since 2005 and leader of the Christian Democratic Union since 2000, is on a three-day official visit to India since Sunday and held bilateral talks with Prime Minister Modi earlier.

Merkel had earlier praised Prime Modi's 'Digital India' initiative, saying that India's experience in digitisation will help Germany and that there is great room for further projects.
