New Delhi: Amazon India's 'Diwali Dhamaka Week' sale kicked off on Friday amidst expectation and promise that the e-retailer is prepared to successfully deliver customers'orders for a plethora of products and brands offered at huge discounts.

Amazon's big discount offer comes a few days after its competitor Flipkart announced its 'Billion Day Sale' on October 6.

The sale will continue from October 10 to October 16 and customers can book products between 7am and 6pm during the period.

The online retailer has put on sale consumer durables, electronic goods and a variety of utility products at heavily discounted prices.

However customers are both excited and skeptical following Flipkart's mis-management during the 'Billion Day Sale'.

With the company splashing full-page advertisements in leading newspapers across the country, offering "bumper discounts" and "crazy deals", there was a mad rush for placing orders, as some of the most-sought after products were available on first-cum-first basis due to limited stocks.
