WNS Holdings Q2 net up at $15.5 million

BPO services provider WNS Holdings Thursday reported marginal rise in its net profit at USD 15.5 million for the second quarter ended September 30, on the back of growth in emerging verticals like retail and utilities.

New York: BPO services provider WNS Holdings Thursday reported marginal rise in its net profit at USD 15.5 million for the second quarter ended September 30, on the back of growth in emerging verticals like retail and utilities.

As per the general accounting standards, the company had registered a net profit of USD 15.3 million in the same quarter last year, WNS said in a statement.

The company's revenues increased by 5.2 percent to USD 141 million in the quarter under review, from USD 134.1 million in the year-ago period, it added.

Year-over-year, revenue improvement was paced by growth in emerging verticals, including Retail/CPG, Utilities, Shipping and Logistics, Healthcare, and CPS, which all grew in excess of 12 percent, the statement said.

Business momentum remains healthy, as WNS continued to add new strategic logos and expand existing relationships in the quarter, WNS CEO Keshav Murugesh said.

"We intend to continue expanding our capabilities and services in the areas of domain expertise, automation, analytics and digitisation to enhance our differentiated positioning in the BPM (Business Process Management) marketplace," he added.

WNS expects its revenue less repair payments to be between USD 523 million and USD 539 million, up from USD 503 million in fiscal 2015.

In 2011-12, WNS re-negotiated contracts with certain clients and repair centres in the auto claims business, whereby the primary responsibility for providing the services is borne by the repair centres instead of WNS.

"Our revised guidance for the year reflects top line growth of 4-7 percent, or 9-12 percent on a constant currency basis," WNS Chief Financial Officer Sanjay Puria said.

During the reported quarter, the New York Stock Exchange-listed company added five new clients and expanded six existing relationships.

As on September 30, WNS' global headcount stood at 29,830.
