Panasonic on Thursday posted a $369 million net profit for the three months to June, down 65 percent from a year ago when the Japanese electronics giant logged a big one-off gain from a pension scheme change.

The Osaka-based company said net profit hit 37.93 billion yen, as it separately announced it has inked a deal with US electric car maker Tesla to build a huge battery manufacturing plant in the United States.
