Europe`s stock markets weakened at the open on Friday, with London`s benchmark FTSE 100 index down 0.21 percent at 6,793.75 points.
Frankfurt`s DAX 30 drifted 0.08 percent lower to 9,995.50 points and in Paris the CAC 40 shed 0.15 percent to 4,556.26 compared with Thursday`s closing level.
European equities had climbed on Thursday, buoyed by the Federal Reserve indicating that ultra-low US interest rates would remain in place for a considerable time.
