Mumbai: The rupee declined by 6 paise to 64.10 against the US dollar in early trade on Friday, extending weakness for the second day due to appreciation of the American currency overseas.

Meanwhile, the benchmark BSE Sensex surged by 260.17 points or 0.93 per cent at 27,965.52 in early trade today.
