Mumbai: The rupee pulled back 9 paise to 64.07 against the dollar in early trade Tuesday, snapping its three-day falling streak at the Interbank Foreign Exchange on fresh selling of the US currency by exporters and banks.

Forex dealers said a lower opening in the domestic equity market and dollar's strength against other currencies overseas limited the gains.

The rupee had slipped 10 paise to close at 64.16 against the greenback in yesterday's trade on persistent demand for the US dollar from banks and importers and sustained capital outflows.

Meanwhile, the benchmark Sensex fell 85.51 points, or 0.32 percent, to trade at 26,501.04 in early trade today.
