Ramesh Abhishek gets three-month extension as FMC chairman

New Delhi: Ramesh Abhishek was Monday given a three-month extension as the chairman of the Forward Markets Commission (FMC).

The Appointments Committee of Cabinet has approved the extension for Abhishek, a 1982-batch IAS officer of the Bihar cadre, for a period of three months beyond January 8, 2015, or until the appointment of the new incumbent, said an order issued today by the Department of Personnel and Training.

Abhishek was given a three-month extension in July and then once more in October of last year. His second extended stint ended on January 7 of this year.
