Proposed 4-day bank strike from January 21 deferred

The proposed public sector bank employees' four-day strike which was scheduled to begin on Wednesday (January 21) has been deferred, reports said late Monday evening.

New Delhi: The proposed public sector bank employees' four-day strike which was scheduled to begin on Wednesday (January 21) has been deferred, reports said late Monday evening.

The employees had decided a four-day striek from January 21 to protest against the "rigid and callous attitude" of Central Government in resolving the long pending wage revision issue, a senior union leader had said earlier.

However, the strike was deferred late in the evening.

Earlier, the employees had decided to hold 1 day strike on January 7 but was deferred on the request of IBA to find out an amicable solution.

The decision is in response to the strike call given by United Forum Of Bank Unions, which has more than ten lakh employees and officers of banking Industry under its umbrella.
