Budget Session of Parliament commences from February 23; Union Budget 2016 to be presented on February 29

New Delhi: The Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs (CCPA) headed by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh met on Wednesday to discuss the broad schedule of Budget session of Parliament.

The Budget Session of Parliament will commence on February 23.

Rail Budget will be presented on February 25 and Economic survey on February 26. Union Budget for 2016-17 will be presented by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on February 29.

Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu after CCPA meeting said, “First part of Budget session will end on March 16 and second part starts from April 25 to May 13”.

The CCPA meeting will be followed by another meeting convened by Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs M. Venkaiah Naidu with the opposition leaders to discuss the duration of the session in view of the upcoming assembly elections in five states.
