BSE to hold mock trading on Saturday to test software

Leading stock exchange BSE will hold a mock trading session on August 1 to test software used for trading and risk management.

Mumbai: Leading stock exchange BSE will hold a mock trading session on August 1 to test software used for trading and risk management.

In three separate circulars Monday, BSE said it "has scheduled a mock trading session" for equity derivatives, currency derivatives and equity segment of the exchange, "on Saturday, August 1, 2015".

The mock session is "regarding testing of software used in or related to Trading and Risk Management," BSE said.

"Trading members shall ensure that all user-ids approved for algorithmic trading, irrespective of the algorithm having undergone change or not, shall participate in the mock trading session," it added.

As per the norms, testing of new software or existing software that has undergone change in mock testing environment is mandatory.

"Trading members using third party trading platforms of empanelled vendors or in-house developed systems... Can use this opportunity to test their respective trading application during mock trading session for various functionalities (including exceptional market conditions), viz. Risk-reduction mode, trading halt, etc," BSE said.

The mock trading would be held between 0930 hours and 1530 hours.
