Gandhinagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday stressed on the need to come together to find a system that ensures economic stability and recovery, adding that the biggest concern around the world is about the global economy.

"All of us want the planet earth to become a better place to live. I have travelled across India and to parts of the world. The biggest concern is about the global economy. We all have to find ways for economic stability and recovery. My government is trying to generate confidence," Prime Minister Modi said while speaking at the Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors Summit here.

"There is tremendous interest in India. Countries are coming forward to work with us. We will have to change the way we have been approaching problems. Recession is often seen just in the context of business and industry," he added.

The Prime Minister also offered a different perspective on the term `recession` and its connotations.
"Have we ever thought of recession as being the result of low per capita income in countries where a majority of global population lives? Have we ever thought of its solution in terms of enhancing the common man`s employability, income and purchasing power?" he asked.

"The best outcome of this event should be inclusiveness and involvement of communities needing care and development," he added.

Around 50,000 delegates from India and 1,800 others from 105 countries are participating in the Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors Summit which is being held at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar.

Among the prominent dignitaries attending the event are United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay and US Secretary of State John Kerry.

Several ministers from Europe, Japan, Australia and Canada and over 50 CEOs of top Indian as well as international companies are also participating in the Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors Summit.
