Kolkata: The West Bengal government plans to set up Unique Clearance Centres (UCC) in districts to expedite and aid mutation and conversion of land for industrial purposes.

A Unique Clearance Centre for industrial land was set up in Howrah in March last year which disposed of 100 percent cases within a year, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said in a Facebook post today.

"Industrial development is an important area. On experimental basis, we had set up a single window synergy for convenience of industries, where all departments concerned sit together and clear mutation and conversion of land for industrial purposes," she said.

"We are planning to set up more such centres in other districts. Our focus is to set up a true investor-friendly ambience in the state," she added.
