Share all info regarding Indian black money: CPI to govt

CPI on Sunday asked the government to share all information regarding Indian black money parked in foreign banks as Switzerland was readying a list of Indians suspected to have un-taxed money in Swiss banks.

New Delhi: CPI on Sunday asked the government to share all information regarding Indian black money parked in foreign banks as Switzerland was readying a list of Indians suspected to have un-taxed money in Swiss banks.

"This government's first decision was to constitute a Special Investigation Team on black money. It therefore should share all information with Parliament and people and make all efforts to get the money back," CPI National Secretary D Raja said.

Meanwhile, the National Council of CPI today demanded that the recommendations of the the RBI-appointed P J Nayak Committee on privatisation of public sector banks be rejected.

"At a time when there is every need to strengthen our public sector banks, it is highly objectionable that such recommendations are being made. The entire world is a witness to the debacle of private banks in many countries," it said in its resolution while calling for strengthening of public banks.

It also "deplored" Home Ministry's move to "force" government departments to use only Hindi in social media and official work.

The government has, however, clarified that use of Hindi on social media is only for states speaking the language and is not being imposed on non-Hindi-speaking states.
