New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Thursday agreed to hear former telecom minister Dayanidhi Maran's plea for restraining CBI from filing chargesheet against him in 2G spectrum allocation scam allegedly involving Aircel-Maxis deal.
Senior advocate Amrendra Saran and advocate Somesh Jha, appearing for Maran, mentioned the case for an urgent hearing before a bench headed by Chief Justice R M Lodha which asked them to raise the issue before the concerned bench.
In his plea, Maran alleged that CBI is proposing to file chargesheet out of political vendetta as the probe in the case is still not complete.
He submitted that the agency is yet to receive information from Malaysian authorities from which the CBI had sought information regarding the deal.
