Retail inflation hits 2-year high; rises to 6.07% in July, as against 5.77% in June

New Delhi: India's retail inflation in the month of July spurted to 6 percent mark, the highest in 22 month as against 5.77 percent in June on the back of rising food prices.

July CPI pulses inflation stood at 27.53% versus 26.86% in June.

RBI had kept the  key benchmark rates unchanged flagging onset of inflationary trend.

The Index of Industrial Production (IIP) picked up in June to 2.1 percent from a month ago, as against 4.2 percent a year ago on the back of mining and electricity output.

The factory output grew at 0.6 percent in the April-June quarter of the current fiscal year, compared with 3.3 percent a year ago.
