Retail inflation for industrial workers falls to 8.62% in June

The all India retail inflation for industrial workers fell marginally to 8.62 percent in June from 8.72 percent in the previous month on decline in prices of wheat atta, vegetables and fruits.

New Delhi: The all India retail inflation for industrial workers fell marginally to 8.62 percent in June from 8.72 percent in the previous month on decline in prices of wheat atta, vegetables and fruits.
     
The inflation based on food index in June was reported at 6.91 percent, down from 7.61 percent in May.
     
The retail inflation numbers are based on All India Consumer Price Index Number for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW).
     
During June, the CPI (IW) index recorded maximum fall of three points in Ludhiana, followed by a decrease of two points in Nashik centre and one point in six other centres.
     
In 10 centres nationwide, it remained stationary, the data released by Ministry of Labour and Employment showed.
     
The headline inflation based on the Wholesale Price Index (WPI) was 9.44 percent in June, while it was 9.06 percent in the previous month.
