Government on Friday informed Parliament that it has not been able to fill vacant posts in the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on black money even after granting an "extended period" for eligible officials to apply.

New Delhi: Government on Friday informed Parliament that it has not been able to fill vacant posts in the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on black money even after granting an "extended period" for eligible officials to apply.

"Vide office memorandum dated December 23, 2014 applications of willing and eligible officers were invited from all ministries/departments for filing up posts of the Special Investigation team. Last date for receipt of applications was January 15, 2015.

"Since no application was received by January 15, 2015, the date was extended upto February 15, 2015. However, no application has been received from eligible applicants, even during the extended period for receipt of applications," Minister of State for Finance Jayant Sinha said in a written reply to Lok Sabha.
