Petrol price hiked by 64 paise a litre, diesel price cut by Rs 1.35

For the third time in a row, oil companies on Monday hiked the price of petrol by 64 paise a litre. However, the price of diesel was cut by Rs 1.35 a litre.

New Delhi: For the third time in a row, oil companies on Monday hiked the price of petrol by 64 paise a litre. However, the price of diesel was cut by Rs 1.35 a litre.

The new rates will come into effect from the midnight of June 16.

With this change, the price of petrol in Delhi will now cost Rs. 66.93 per litre while that of diesel will cost Rs. 50.93 a litre.

On previous two occasions, the price of petrol had been hiked by as much as over Rs 7 a litre while the price of diesel had been hiked by over Rs 5 a litre.

After two rounds of cuts, petrol prices on April 15 raised by Rs 3.96 per litre and that of diesel by Rs 2.37 a litre, tracking global cues.

Later on May 15, petrol price was again hiked by Rs 3.13 a litre and diesel by Rs 2.71 per litre.
