National consumers convention to be held in Delhi today

National Consumers Convention is an event on challenges facing Indian consumers.

New Delhi: The National Consumers Convention will be held in New Delhi today. The convention to be held at at Mirza Ghalib Hall, Lodhi Road will have Food Minister Ram Vilas Paswan as the Chief Guest.

Delegates from 36 states are attending this convention. The list of distinguished guests include Mrs. Indrani, Consumer International (CI) and Shri Keshav Desi Raju, IAS Secretary, Ministry of Consumer Affairs who will address the session as the event will take off. In the afternoon, a technical session will be held where representatives from leading corporate federations like FICCI, CII, ASSOCHAM, ASCI, CREDAI etc. will express corporate/brands views on National Consumer Policy.

There will be a session representing quality control agencies like BIS, TRAI, FSSAI, AGMARK, QCI, etc. to express their views on National Consumer Policy. Another important session will throw light on the views of prominent consumer organizations like CUTS, VOICE, CERC, MGP, CAI, etc. on challenges facing Indian consumers. The nature of this convention is a national matter of consumer importance which is put forth to think of and work upon.

National Consumers Convention – an event on challenges facing Indian consumers and suggestions on a National Consumer Policy has been organized by CCC (Consumer Coordination Council) with the support of Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India.
