New Delhi: The government is likely to introduce the Bill to amend the Labour Laws (Exemption from Furnishing Returns and Maintaining Registers by Certain Establishments) Act, 1988, Wednesday in Rajya Sabha.

The Bill seeks to allow thousands of small industries to file just one return for compliance with 16 labour laws.

The bill is listed in the Rajya Sabha business schedule for August 13.

The Union Cabinet had a few days back cleared amendments to the Factories Act, the Apprentices Act and the Labour Laws Act to make them more compatible and beneficial for labourers and employers.

Labour and Employment minister Narendra Singh Tomar had said that the Cabinet has given its approval to the amendments and they would be beneficial for the labourers.
