New Delhi: Tur Dal selling at around Rs 190 per kg, will be sold in Kendriya Bhandar stores in the national capital for Rs.100 only. Dal prices of various varieties in most parts of the country skyrocketed as much as 30 percent in September, constibuting most to the food inflation.

According to reports, an inter-ministerial group, chaired by the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley met on Wednesday and decided to create a buffer stock of lentils mainly through imports and create balance in the supply side situation of lentils in the country.

The government has also decide to make use of the Price Stabilisation Fund to meet the imports related expenditure. The fund will take care of all the handling charges at the ports, transportation charges, and milling and processing charges.

Mother Dairy's 300 Safal outlets is expected to start selling the subsidised dal from  Saturday onwards.
