New Delhi: Indian economy grew by 7.5 percent in the January-March quarter of the current fiscal while overall FY 15 GDP growth stood 7.3 percent, government data showed on Friday.
In the case of mining and quarrying, the Index of Industrial Production of mining registered growth of 1.4 percent during 2014-15, production of coal and crude oil registered growth rates of 8.2 percent.
The key indicators of construction sector –cement and consumption of finished steel registered growth of 5.6 percent and 3.1 percent, respectively in 2014-15.
Meanwhile, as per the latest estimates, the index of mining, manufacturing and electricity registered growth rates of 0.2 percent, 3.6 percent and 3.7 percent respectively, in Q4 of 2014-15, as compared to the growth rates of 1.8 percent, (-)1.6 percent and 7.6 percent respectively in these sectors in Q4, 2013-14.
