Black money: Now, rich Godmen under SIT scanner

New Delhi: The extra-ordinary rise of wealth of many Indian Godmen and Godwomen will be under the SIT (Special Investigative Team) scanner.

As reported by Times of India, the SIT on black money will closely monitor the source of wealth and its utilization by the Indian babas and maas.

The SIT was created by the Supreme Court and notified by the government last year to curb black money instances and heads of senior representatives of 11 premier central probe and enforcement agencies are on its board.

The high-powered panel, headed by former Supreme Court judge M B Shah and chaired by SIT Vice Chairman Justice (retd) Arijit Pasayat will take stock of the probe done by the agencies and examine the source of wealth of these babas, the paper said.

The panel has held at least two full-fledged meetings in the recent past with all the agencies under the SIT so that a comprehensive volume covering all aspects of the black money-related investigations could be covered in the next report.
