Vserv plans to hire 100 people in 2013

Mobile advertising company Vserv Sunday said it will hire 100 people this year across various functions, including technology and product development.

New Delhi: Mobile advertising company Vserv Sunday said it will hire 100 people this year across various functions, including technology and product development.

The company is eyeing a revenue of USD 100 million by December 2015 and has also partnered with Airtel for its latest advertising platform AudiencePro, which will help advertisers do targeted advertising at a large scale.

"Our current employee strength stands at 100. We plan to ramp up this number to 200 this calender year. The hiring will be done across functions like business and technology & product development," Vserv.Mobi CEO Dippak Khurana told PTI.

Although he did not disclose the current revenues of the company, Khurana added the company "should be able to achieve revenues of USD 100 million by December 2015.

"Vserv.Mobi has also launched AudiencePro, a platform which will enable the company collect customer information from telecom operators, helping advertisers do targeted advertising," Khurana said.

"We will leverage telecom operator's relation with customers for information such as age, gender, city and spending power or Average Revenue Per User (ARPU). This will help in targeted and more effective advertising," he added.

Telecom companies, especially in emerging markets, have been looking for mobile advertising opportunities, while advertisers seek richer audience profile insights.

The AudiencePro platform provides a powerful dual solution to these challenges, while delivering higher monetisation to Vserv.Mobi's publisher and developer partners, Khurana said.

On an average, mobile advertising spend accounts for about 7-8 percent of a company's total digital spends and is growing at 100 percent per annum, industry experts said.

The company has partnered with Airtel for the platform, however, the arrangement is not an exclusive one and Vserv.Mobi is looking at more operator tie ups.

"We serve 150 countries through our mobile advertising platform App Wrapper, via 70-80 telecom operators. We plan to work with them as well for our AudiencePro platform." he said.
