New Delhi: Infosys Ltd, India`s second-largest IT services exporter, on Thursday named former SAP AG executive board member Vishal Sikka as Chief Executive Officer.
Infosys Executive Chairman Narayana Murthy will voluntarily step down w.e.f June 14 and will be the Chairman Emeritus of the company from October 11.
Sikka will take over from current Chief Executive S.D. Shibulal, one of the engineers who founded Infosys, on August 1, the company said in a statement to the stock exchanges.
Reacting on this change N Murthy said "Sikka track record makes him ideal choice to lead Infosys."
Infosys board has also elevated Praveen Rao as COO.
