SC grants Sahara final chance

The Supreme Court on Friday gave the Sahara group a third and final chance to negotiate its proposed deal for arranging money for the release of its chief executive, Subrata Roy from jail.

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Friday gave the Sahara group a third and final chance to negotiate its proposed deal for arranging money for the release of its chief executive, Subrata Roy from jail.

The Supreme Court says the outline of the proposed deal should be given to SEBI and the regulators to look over within a week.

Roy is currently in Tihar jail on contempt charges for failing to repay investors after a court order on an illegal bond scheme.

The bail amount is approximately USD 7 billion.
