Robot kills a worker in Manesar auto factory

New Delhi: A young worker in an auto ancillary company was killed by a robot when he was trying to fix a metal sheet that had got dislocated, as per media reports. The robot is pre-programmed to weld the metal sheets.

The worker Ramji Lal, who is only 24 years old hailed from Unnao in Uttar Pradesh. He worked as a loader for SKH Metals. The auto ancillary company is located at Industrial Model Township Manesar. He joined a year-and-a-half ago.

Workers, protesting the case, halted work at the factory while the Police have booked the company management and contractor with charges of causing death due to negligence.
