Reliance Industries will invest Rs 100,000 crore in Gujarat: Mukesh Ambani

Addressing the delegates at the seventh edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Summit in Gandhinagar on Sunday, Ambani urged upon companies from across the globe to invest in India.

New Delhi: India's richest and chairman of Reliance Industries Mukesh Ambani on Sunday said his company will invest Rs 100,000 crore in Gujarat in over the next 12-18 months.

Addressing the delegates at the seventh edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Summit in Gandhinagar on Sunday, Ambani urged upon companies from across the globe to invest in India.

Gujarat is the most advanced and developed state in the country, he said.

'It is that the state I called home and I welcome you to the home of the greats', he added.

Ambani also said Gujarat has become future-oriented state in India and that the Vibrant Gurajat Summit was growing bigger and better each year.

He also had high praises for the initiatives taken up by Prime Minister Narendra Modi especially the Make in India and Digital India campaign.

Make in India, Digital India programmes have energised India, the RIL chairman said.

Reliance will contribute to the 'Make in India' initiative, he said while assuring that his company will invest Rs 1 lakh crore in Gujarat in next 12-18 months.

India can become the world's fastest growing economy, he said.

The Summit is being attended by Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon, US Secretary of State John Kerry and 50 CEOs from India and across the globe.
