Seeking to bring in investment in rail sector, Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu will on Friday address CEOs of financial institutions and corporates in Mumbai to apprise them of emerging opportunities in the country's public transporter.

New Delhi: Seeking to bring in investment in rail sector, Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu will on Friday address CEOs of financial institutions and corporates in Mumbai to apprise them of emerging opportunities in the country's public transporter.

The meeting of senior railway officials with the heads and CEOs of FIs and a few corporates is being organised at the initiative of the Railway Minister who had in his maiden Railway Budget unveiled massive investment plans for strengthening and modernising the key railway infrastructure in the country, a senior Railway Ministry official said.

The meeting today is a follow-up on the banks and financial institutions' conclave held here on July 21.

Minister of State for Finance Jayant Sinha and RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan had addressed the conclave.

Prabhu, Chairman Railway Board and Railway Financial Commissioner are scheduled to address the Mumbai meet.

The meeting is being held in Mumbai this time to increase exposure and visibility to the investment plan of Railways. The Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC) which is the financial intermediary for the Railways is co-hosting the event.
