NTPC starts 3 solar power projects, boosting total to 75 MW

In a separate filing, NTPC said the second 500 MW unit of the Mouda Super Thermal Power Station is now commercially operational.

New Delhi: NTPC has started generating power from three solar projects, helping to take its total capacity from the renewable energy source to 75 megawatts.

Solar plants with capacities of 30 MW at Rajgarh in Chhattisgarh, 10 MW at Unchahar in Uttar Pradesh and 5 MW at Faridabad have started electricity generation, NTPC said in a filing to the stock exchange.

With the commissioning and commercial declaration of these units, the capacity of NTPC's solar energy projects has risen to 75 MW. The utility's total capacity has become 43,019 MW.

In a separate filing, NTPC said the second 500 MW unit of the Mouda Super Thermal Power Station is now commercially operational.

NTPC shares fell 0.74 percent to Rs 119.95 at the close on the BSE.
