Making a strong pitch to attract investments into India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday assured top American corporate honchos of tax stability and friendlier business environment in the country.

Modi, who is on his maiden visit to the United States as Prime Minister, held meetings with a galaxy of American corporate executives, including those from Boeing, PepsiCo, Google, KKR and General Electric.

Bullish on the potential of the Indian market, the corporates have expressed keenness to strengthen their engagements with India especially at a time when the new government is rolling out various initiatives such as 'Make in India' campaign.

Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein

After meeting Narendra Modi, financial services giant Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein said, "We discussed India. We are enthusiastic about the changes and the reforms in India and we are anxious to do our part in making India a better place. The meeting was very good. He is a very charismatic leader."

General Electric CEO Jeffery Immelt

Describing his one-on-one meeting with the Prime Minister as "excellent", Immelt Jeffery said, "GE is a long term investor in India. We look forward to more in the future."

Immelt also had high praise for Modi whom he described as a Prime Minister with "good head set for business" and expressed hope that he would continue to "drive the reform process".

BlackRock CEO Laurence Flik

"In response to PM @narendramodi call for investments, Black Rock to host global investors meet in India, early 2015," External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin tweeted.

Mastercard CEO Ajay Banga

Another India-origin CEO Ajay Banga, who is at the helm of Mastercard, said the Prime Minister was a good listener and that he believed that Modi can execute plans like the way he did in Gujarat.

PepsiCo's chief Indra Nooyi

Boeing CEO James McNerney

In a one-on-one meeting with Modi, Boeing CEO James McNerney said that the company wants to accelerate its engagement with India.

IBM CEO Virginia Rometty

US-based global technology giant IBM has expressed keen interest in participating in India's newly-launched initiatives like Smart Cities and Digital India.

During her meeting with Modi, Romnetty discussed "software for Smart Cities and Digital India initiatives," External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin tweeted.
