MRF Q2 net surges 94.66 pc to Rs 332.62 crore

New Delhi: Tyre manufacturer MRF on Thursday reported a 94.66 per cent jump in its standalone net profit at Rs 332.62 crore for the quarter ended March 31 on account of lower expenses.

The Chennai-based firm had posted a net profit of Rs 170.87 crore for the same period in previous fiscal.

However, net sales of the company rose marginally to Rs 3,310.61 crore for the second quarter compared with Rs 3,297.4 crore in the same period of previous fiscal, MRF said in a filing to the BSE.

MRF follows September-October as its financial year.

Shares of MRF were trading at Rs 40,011.35 apiece on the BSE, up 3.27 per cent from its previous close.
