New Delhi: Indian flyers taking the Tata Sons-Air Asia late night domestic flights will soon be able to fly for throw-away fares, as per a news paper report.

The late night flights, popularly called 'red eyes' in the West, connoting the sleepy-eyed passengers, are very popular because of their low cost tickets. These late night flights operate between 11pm and 4am.

The services will be launched as soon as the early next year after the winter fogs are gone, the paper further reported.

Mittu Chandilya, CEO of AirAsia India Pvt told the paper that this is among "pushing-the-envelope plans" that the company has.

AirAsia India that currently operates flights between Bengaluru and Chennai, Kochi, Goa, Jaipur, Chandigarh, has brought a new discounted fare regime ever since it started operations in India.

The airlines' discounts and promotional offers have forced many other domestic players to cut prices in the recent past.

The edge-to-edge competition has resulted in good times for the customers for which price matters more than giving airlines preference.
