Bhopal: With an aim to promote tourism and trade with Vietnam and other ASEAN countries, India's leading private carrier Jet Airways has placed its code (9W) on Vietnam Airlines flights operating between Singapore and Phu Quoc Island.

"Jet Airways has recently placed its code (9W) on Vietnam Airlines flights operating between Singapore and Phu Quoc Island effective from April 15, 2015," the airline's Chief Commercial Officer (COO) Raj Sivakumar told PTI on Thursday.

This is in addition to the existing code-share flights aligned with Vietnam Airlines between Bangkok, Hongkong, Singapore and Hanoi, he said.

As part of its strategy, the airlines has worked towards increasing connectivity to cities in the ASEAN region and beyond through its primary hubs in Delhi and Mumbai.

The airline launched its maiden flight to Ho Chi Minh City in its winter schedule, thus further enlarging its global footprint in the ASEAN region, Sivakumar said.

"The Boeing 737 flight offers seamless connections to cities in the ASEAN region and beyond Ho Chi Minh City to Sydney, Melbourne and Hanoi and within Vietnam with our code-share partner, Vietnam Airlines," he said.

The airline has also introduced an all-inclusive 'JetEscapes' holiday packages for tourists seeking a vacation.

"The JetEscapes package is designed to provide guests with an enchanting travel experience, the four night and five days 'Highlights of Vietnam' and includes tours of Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Halong Bay," Corporate Affairs and Public Relations vice president Ragini Chopra said.

It also includes return economy class airfare, she added.
