New Delhi: Infosys CEO Vishal Sikka met Prime Minister Narendra Modi Wednesday and is said to have committed USD 250 million towards innovation in India.

Vishal also told reporters that Infosys will develop software to manage Ujjain Kumbh mela next year.

India's second largest software company on Friday reported a 13 percent jump in consolidated net profit for the third quarter to Rs 3,250 crore, helped by increase in business and clients from North America, as also from India.

According to reports, Infosys Foundation is also donating over Rs 145 crore towards a school lunch programme for a Bangalore-based NGO.

Of the total amount, Rs 127 crore will be used to build three modern kitchens and run operations while Rs 20 crore is for the corpus, reports said.

Infosys Foundation is headed by Sudha Murty, wife of Narayan Murthy.
