India ranks 8th in New World Wealth index; home to 14,800 multimillionaires

India has ranked 8th in the New World Wealth's wealth index that looks at multimillionaires.

London: India is home to 14,800 multimillionaires with Mumbai topping the highest number of them. Mumbai alone has 2,700 multimillionaires.

India has ranked 8th in the New World Wealth's wealth index that looks at multimillionaires. In the list, the asset counts for individual with net assets of at least $10 million.

Hong Kong has topped the list for multi-millionaires while it ranks fifth on the millionaire list. Other cities and countries in the multi-millionaires list are followed by New York, London, Moscow, Los Angeles and Singapore.

US has topped the millionaire list followed by Japan and the UK. China and India are both significantly lower on this list while Russia, which ranks ninth in the world for multi-millionaires, ranks 18th in the world for millionaires.

South America topped the regional performance by registering 265% multi-millionaire growth over the last decade followed by Australasia and Africa.

Emerging markets like India, China, Russia, Brazil, Indonesia, Vietnam and Angola registered over 200 percent growth in terms of country performance.
